SAIC is looking for an
Engineering Technician, IV , to support our NSWC Crane customer, in the Small Arms Weapons Division, JXN.
Job Responsibilities
Provide test and evaluation, engineering, modeling and simulation, and preparation of technical data packages for Small Arms Ammunition (caliber .22 through caliber .60 and 40mm grenades)
Provide technical support for NSWC Crane small arms ammunition projects, including development of a Design Verification Test plan, Hazard Classification plans, Surface Danger Zones development plans, and preparation of project cost estimates
Provide technical support for ammunition development and evaluation of safety, reliability, and performance
Develop ammunition performance specifications and ammunition drawings in ASME Y14.100M and MILSTD-100 engineering standards format
Design and develop test methods and test equipment
Draft Test and Evaluation Plans, SOPs, Hazard Analyses, Environmental and Performance Test Reports, Hazard Classification and Insensitive Munitions Reports, and Demilitarization / Disposal Plans
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 5 year of related experience
Knowledge of Military and/or NSWC Crane operations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
Familiarity with military small arms operation, repair and maintenance
Interim secret required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process
Must be a U.S. citizen
