About this role
We are seeking a Service Plumber to handle a range of residential plumbing tasks. You will troubleshoot, install, and repair plumbing systems, diagnose issues, execute repairs and installations, and ensure that all work meets high‑quality standards and local codes. Strong problem‑solving skills and effective communication with homeowners are essential.
In this role, you will be responsible for
Diagnosing problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment
Determining whether repairs or replacements are needed for customers
Installing and assembling plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes
Performing installation, maintenance, and repairs on water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components
Testing for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety
Repairing and maintaining plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains
Managing the inventory of plumbing supplies in the vehicle, including checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts
Keeping equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures
Maintaining safety equipment
Additional duties as assigned
Required qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial systems
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
Expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems
Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations
Experience with various tools and equipment, such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools
Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, and handling tools for extended periods
Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment
Proven customer‑service track record, focusing on professionalism and satisfaction
Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work‑management software to track tasks and report on job progress
Ability to lead apprentices, work well within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and at least 3 years of driving experience
The physical requirements of this job include
Lifting 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
Climbing ladders, accessing attics, navigating tight spaces, driving, entering crawlspaces, pushing, carrying, pulling, using hand tools, and performing fine detail work
Ability to drive
Working in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces
Ability to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone
Use hands to handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
Performance requires regular exposure to extreme temperatures both indoors and outdoors, and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice or snow
