Outstanding Radiation Oncology position with the Carle Cancer Institute in Normal, Illinois with opportunity for Academic Appointment through the Carle Illinois College of Medicine in Urbana, Illinois.

Opportunity Details
The Carle Cancer Institute is excited to add a Radiation Oncologist to its campus in Normal, Illinois. The Radiation Oncologist would have an opportunity to practice external beam radiation therapy. Performing HDR brachytherapy is not required for this position.

Candidates with experience and new graduates are welcome to apply. Mentorship for new graduates will be provided. The Radiation Oncologist will work with 6 other Radiation Oncologists across Carle Health's Radiation Oncology services in Urbana, Normal, and Peoria, Illinois. This position will serve the campus in Normal. The practice has 1 external beam radiation unit (Varian True Beam with micro-MLCs, CT simulator, and PET/CT unit on site). The practice offers a variety of external beam treatment options: 3D, IMRT with Rapid Arc, SRS, SRT and SBRT. The practice has an active stereotactic radiotherapy program. EPIC electronic medical record, ARIA radiation oncology record and Eclipse treatment planning software are utilized. Staff include 2 medical physicists, 1 medical dosimetrist, 4 radiation therapists and 2 RNs.

The Radiation Oncologist would enjoy a very generous compensation package in a stable Carle Health System, while practicing in a multi-disciplinary setting with weekly Quality Assurance Radiation Oncology Conference (Chart Round), disease site specific Tumor Boards, and a strong support from Medical Oncology and all Surgical Services. In 2018, Carle Health and the University of Illinois opened their doors to first medical student class at the new Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Academic appointments will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Carle Cancer Institute has strong clinical cancer research with a National Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) Grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and currently > 100 open clinical trials for cancer patients in East Central Illinois. The Carle Cancer Institute is home to the Stephens Family Clinical Research Institute with an existing opportunity to support investigator-initiated studies.

Bloomington-Normal, Illinois is a college town with Illinois State University and some large national companies, such as State Farm Insurance and Rivian car manufacturer. Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $525,000 - $600,000. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
