Cardiac Rehab Therapist PRN
The clinical Exercise Physiologist is responsible for professional care and related assistance to patients in all phases of Cardiac Rehabilitation. The Exercise Physiologist will provide direct and indirect patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Exercise Physiologist will assess, evaluate and prescribe safe and effective exercise for patients recovering from a heart attack, heart surgery, or diagnosed with cardiac disease.
What You Will Do in This Role
Exercise Physiologists
Monitor hemodynamic responses during exercise
Develop suitable exercises at an appropriate heart rate range
Teach patient independent exercise habits
Provide information on cardiac risk factor modification and positive lifestyle changes
Exhibit basic knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias
Exhibit professional and ethical conduct at all times
Be courteous with patients, co-workers, family members, physicians, and the general public
Appropriately handle confidential information regarding patient records
Must pass competency checklists for all responsibilities outlined by the departmental/program policy
Participate and promote positive team interactions to ensure patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration
Qualifications You Will Need
Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology required
A minimum of 1–2 years working in a cardiac rehab setting is required
Must be able to pickup weekday shifts
