Location: Valencia, CA, 91355
Business Unit: Systems and Support | Function: Operations
This position involves independent precision machine operations utilizing up to two or more CNC or manual machining centers to cut, shape, drill or form metal work pieces to specifications.
Responsibilities
Perform setup and diversified operations on CNC or manual machining centers.
Perform milling, drilling, boring, or related operations to achieve closed and interrelated tolerances.
Review setup sheets and specifications to determine machining sequence and dimensions to finished workpiece.
Attach fixture to machining bed and position and secure workpiece in fixture according to setup instructions.
Select and install cutting tools in machine spindle or magazine.
Measure workpiece for conformance to specifications.
Utilize override control to correct conditions that are out of tolerance or operating unusually, coordinating with the manufacturing engineer.
Machine materials other than metal, such as composites, plastic, and rubber as required.
Cleans machine, tooling, parts and perform machine maintenance following 6S principles.
Adjust machine feed and speed and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions, coordinating with manufacturing engineer.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
4–6 years of machining experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Two‑year college or technical CNC certification preferred.
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Mechanical/technical aptitude.
Attendance dependability.
Ability to work independently.
Flexibility with changes in work requirements.
Attention to detail.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent standing, walking, use of hands to handle objects, occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds. The employee must be comfortable with a mix of seated and standing tasks.
Compensation
Hourly rate: $26.11 – $36.00.
