
Mental Health Professional Hourly

The Mental Health Professional provides clinical services to individuals under the supervision of the Mental Health Coordinator, Clinical Supervisor or Mental Health Director. They conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide evidence‑based psychotherapeutic interventions. Additionally, they provide mental health consultation and training to facility staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Master’s degree in a behavioral/social science field from an accredited college or university.
Experience
Coursework and professional experience indicating knowledge of mental health counseling, group and individual psychotherapy, diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders, psychological assessment techniques, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation.
Licenses/Certifications
LMSW, LPC, or similar licensure in the state from the appropriate state licensing board; must maintain CPR certification and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical services, including individual and group psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and diagnostic evaluations, in compliance with policies and professional standards.
Complete relevant clinical documentation, including clinical service reports and mental health treatment records, in a timely and professional manner.
Provide consultation services to institutional staff, including screening committees and psychiatric staff, regarding the mental status and management of persons served.
Participate in staff meetings, in‑service training programs, and specialized clinical services and/or program development activities.
Maintain accountability for services provided through participation in the Quality Improvement program and timely and accurate recording of activities.
