Job Description Summary
The ECT/ Saint TMS RN will oversee the care of patients from their initial consultation through completion of treatment. Responsibilities include monitoring vitals, assessing orientation status, documenting status using EPIC flowsheets, performing chest port access/de‑access with sterile technique, understanding medications administered during ECT and other psychotropic drugs, conducting intake for new patients (allergies, medication reconciliation, chart review), managing prior authorizations for ECT and TMS, administering TMS and SNT treatments on the MagVenture machine using Magnus software, and following up with patients after treatment to plan next steps.

General Responsibilities

Direct and lead other assigned team members, collaborating with multidisciplinary staff to provide age‑appropriately tailored care.

Apply the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to deliver patient/family‑centered care.

Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment, ensuring patient privacy and professional conduct.

Participate in shared governance, peer review, and professional development to support clinical excellence.

Specific Responsibilities (ECT/TMS RN)

Oversee patient care from initial consultation to end of treatment course.

Monitor vitals, assess orientation, and document status using EPIC flowsheets.

Perform chest port access and de‑access with sterile technique.

Understand medications given during ECT and other psychotropic medications.

Conduct intake evaluations for new patients (allergies, medication reconciliation, chart review).

Manage prior authorizations for ECT and TMS.

Administer TMS and SNT treatments on MagVenture, Brainsway, and Neurostar machines using appropriate software.

Follow up with patients post‑treatment and plan subsequent steps.

Required Minimum Training and Education

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or Nursing License Compact.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations

Current South Carolina RN License or multi‑state Nursing License Compact.

BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).

Physical Requirements

Perform tasks while standing, walking, and sitting; bend, kneel, climb stairs, and reach in all directions.

Use both hands and legs with good dexterity; perform repetitive hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder motions.

Work in a latex‑safe, indoor environment; lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and exert up to 50 lbs of force for brief periods.

Maintain vision of 20/40 corrected; work in dusty or confined areas occasionally.
