Overview
Senior-level Environmental Specialist responsible for environmental compliance, reporting, and oversight across all environmental media. Serves as the technical subject matter expert and primary point of contact for environmental matters within the assigned function.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Provide oversight and lead implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental Management Information System (EMIS)
Support field implementation across all environmental media including air, water, waste, spills/remediation, and land
Ensure compliance with permit, jurisdictional, and corporate (CoP) environmental requirements
Serve as technical point of contact for all environmental issues within assigned function
Maintain and manage environmental tools and systems including Compliance Database, Intelex, spill reporting, water use, and air quality records
Coordinate with internal environmental teams, permit staff, project personnel, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance
Proactively identify compliance risks and develop mitigation plans
Communicate environmental requirements to contractors and perform compliance assurance checks
Support and participate in CoP programs, audits, and agency inspections
Act as SPOC for contractor and internal environmental inquiries; elevate to HSE Director as needed
Interface with KSOP and ACS Spill Response teams and oversee ACS Technicians within function
Manage environmental data, reporting, record‑keeping, and documentation
Support consolidated reporting efforts when required
Collaborate with HSE Director on incident response and regulatory notifications
Assist in development and execution of Red Book environmental training schedule
Qualifications
5+ years of environmental experience (senior‑level)
Advanced knowledge across environmental disciplines (air, water, waste, remediation, land)
Experience with environmental compliance systems (EMIS, Intelex, databases)
Strong understanding of regulatory and corporate environmental requirements
Ability to lead initiatives and solve complex environmental issues
Strong communication skills; capable of interfacing with contractors, stakeholders, and leadership
Experience supporting field operations and environmental compliance programs
Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to others
