Job Summary/Overview
This position is responsible for fabricating and welding steel to approve prints and shop orders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read and execute shop orders, blueprints, and cutting sheets.
Operate saws to efficiently cut lengths of steel and aluminum as specified by cut sheets.
Use portable drills and drill bit sharpeners.
Operate TIG welding machines to meet specifications.
Use all machines and overhead hoists efficiently and safely.
Work safely and effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
Apply concepts used in fabrication, production, and inventory.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Read, analyze, and interpret shop orders, blueprints, and procedures.
Apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions and solve problems involving a few concrete variables.
Comply with company rules, policies, and safety/environmental regulations.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified TIG Welder with at least 2 years of experience.
Ability to lift, lower, push, or pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
