Description
The Dental Hygienist at Bond is responsible for delivering preventive oral health care and supporting overall patient wellness through high-quality clinical services and education. This role provides comprehensive dental hygiene services, including patient assessments, dental cleanings, radiographs, and periodontal care, while promoting positive oral health behaviors and treatment adherence. The Dental Hygienist works collaboratively with dentists and clinical staff to ensure an efficient, patient-centered care environment that emphasizes safety, comfort, and clinical excellence. This position also plays a key role in identifying oral health conditions, documenting findings, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies. Success in this role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and adherence to all applicable infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Perform the dental hygiene process of care.
Educate individuals on oral health conditions and the promotion of oral health-related disease prevention.
Examine individuals requesting care, assess dental/oral conditions, prescribe and carry out, or direct others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment, or refer individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines.
Assist in the provision of technical assistance and health education to the community as requested.
Participate in short- and long-term program planning for the Dental Department and the agency, including development of goals and objectives.
Knowledge, skills, ability, and willingness to function as a chair-side assistant.
Education And Training
Graduation from an accredited dental hygienist school
Minimum of three years clinical experience preferred
Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred
Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required
Licensure And Credentials
Florida license to practice dental hygiene
Current CPR (BLS) certifications. ACLS preferred.
Hours Of Work
A minimum of 40 per week and as needed. May require work on some weekends.
