Louisiana Bridge Builders (LBB) is designing and building the new I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and is responsible for reconstructing an interstate highway, various structures, ramps, and approaches for a 5.5‑mile stretch between I‑210 West End and Ryan Street.
Position Purpose/Summary
The Carpenter I supports LBB by assisting in the construction, installation, repair, and removal of structures and fixtures for the project.
Location
This position is based in Lake Charles, LA.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with wood, concrete, and other materials formwork.
Assist with measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood, plywood, and other materials according to plans and specifications.
Assist in building, setting, and removing concrete forms and placing concrete for structures.
Assist with the installation of anchors, bolts, and reinforcing components for roadway structures.
Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely.
Assist with concrete pouring and finishing process.
Ensure work meets quality standards and complies with construction codes.
Maintain a clean and safe worksite.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
Use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) and adapt to new programs and processes.

Work a flexible schedule, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications
At a minimum, the Carpenter I must have 2+ years of relevant construction experience and proven knowledge of tools and equipment.
