Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The outpatient RN plays a critical role in staff engagement, patient experience, quality and safety, and cost‑effective care, supporting the team’s goal of maximizing patient involvement and reducing length of hospitalization.
Position Summary
The outpatient RN is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The outpatient RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit.
Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
Background Check
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
