$22.90- $28.62/hr. | $47,632 - $59,539 annual compensation.

4‑day work week. Shift hours are 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday or 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Tuesday – Friday, depending on business needs.

About the Department:
The City of Fort Worth Property Management Department, Facilities Division, provides city departments with world‑class facility planning, design, construction, renovation and maintenance service.
Position:
HVAC Service Technician II (Facilities Division). The selected candidate will independently troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain HVAC systems and equipment in city buildings.
Incentives:
Sign‑On Incentive of $2,000: 50% paid after the first pay period, 50% paid after six months of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma required, or GED supplemented by specialized HVAC training or related skilled‑trade experience.
Two years of increasingly responsible HVAC experience.
Valid Texas driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Commercial HVAC service, maintenance, and installation experience.
Controls experience.
Computer program experience (Microsoft Office).
Job Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair heating and air conditioning systems.
Utilize appropriate tools in performing HVAC maintenance.
Pipe fitting experience (chilled water, hot water, steam).
Read and interpret blueprints.
Work in confined spaces.
Climb and work from ladders and scaffolding.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Work may involve touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling, and lifting. Exposures may include moving mechanical parts, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, limited lighting, intense noise, gases, vibrations, and restricted workspaces.
Physical Requirements
Up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, or 20 pounds of force consistently, and ability to work from heights and confined spaces.
Background Check
Applicants must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint‑based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.
Disqualifying criminal history includes: felony convictions, felony deferred adjudications; Class A or Class B misdemeanor convictions or deferred adjudications in the last 10 years; open arrest for any criminal offense; and all family‑violence convictions.
