
Project Architect

Mackenzie is a design firm that specializes in architecture, interiors, engineering, and planning. Locations in Portland, OR, Seattle and Vancouver, WA.
We are seeking a skilled Project Architect to join our Seattle office, bringing expertise across Public, Industrial, Healthcare, Retail, and Commercial/Workplace market sectors. The person in this role will lead projects and work on a wide variety of project types, all while striving to integrate design in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead architectural design efforts from initial concept through to the completion of construction, ensuring design intent and alignment with project goals.
Coordinate multidisciplinary systems including structural, mechanical, electrical, and other specialized infrastructure to ensure seamless integration within architectural solutions.
Collaborate multidiscipline teams formed with in-house and consultants on a wide range of project types and complexity.
Manage a team to design engaging environments to meet client goals for public-facing spaces, emphasizing brand identity and user experience, balancing aesthetics, performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Provide mentorship and guidance to fellow Architects and Architectural Designers
Qualifications
10 to 15+ years of architectural experience; specific or various project types.
Architectural license is required.
Strong communication skills across multidisciplinary teams, with an emphasis on delivering quality design for our clients.
Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.
Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects through design development, construction documents, and contract administration phases.
AutoCAD, Bluebeam, InDesign, and Deltek Vantagepoint experience are a plus.
Salary Range: $94,000 to $130,000
At Mackenzie, we work a hybrid office schedule; all staff work in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with an option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.
