Traveling Low‑Voltage / IP Camera Technician (100% Nationwide Travel)
Schedule: Overnight shifts
Travel: 100% nationwide (company vehicle provided)
Project: Large‑scale retail security camera rollout
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Traveling Low‑Voltage / Cable Technicians to support a nationwide IP security camera deployment at commercial stores. Technicians will travel continuously across the U.S. as part of a four‑person team to install, cable, test, and validate IP camera systems per strict installation and field‑of‑view (FOV) requirements.
This role involves full end‑to‑end installation, documentation, and close‑out work in active retail environments.
Top Required Skills
Valid state driver’s license:
Required for 100% travel using a company vehicle
2+ years of IP camera installation experience:
Axis cameras preferred
Experience adjusting and validating camera field of view (FOV)
Blueprint and scope reading:
Ability to read installation scopes, diagrams, and blueprints
Interview will include blueprint review
Scissor lift experience:
Certification preferred
Key Responsibilities
Install Axis IP security cameras (35–38 per site)
Run and terminate CAT5e/CAT6 cabling to IDFs
Label, test, and organize cabling (Fluke preferred)
Mount cameras using Unistrut, conduit, and surface/ceiling mounts
Verify network connectivity and support configuration checks
Assist with FOV validation and make camera adjustments as required
Capture and upload:
Camera photos
Test results
Validation documentation
Upload close‑out documentation into ServiceNow
Follow all safety, PPE, and customer requirements
Work overnight shifts, typically four nights per store
Required Experience
2+ years in low‑voltage / structured cabling environments
Strong hands‑on experience with CAT5e/CAT6 installation and testing
IP camera installation experience (Axis preferred)
Comfortable working in:
IDFs
Ladders and scissor lifts
Basic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Ability to travel 100% nationwide and work overnight schedules
Preferred Qualifications
Axis camera experience
Fluke testing or certification
Conduit bending / light EMT experience
Previous big‑box retail rollout experience
Experience using ServiceNow or similar systems
