
Quality Inspector, CWI

Overview
The Quality Inspector will report to the site Quality Manager or Quality Field Operations Manager as applicable, and indirectly to the Sr. Manager of Quality Control. The role involves conducting and documenting inspections in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring accurate, legible, and traceable reporting, and developing positive working relationships with owners, representatives, and site supervision to facilitate quality objectives.
Travel
Travel up to 100% is required. The position requires presence at the project site.
Responsibilities
Familiarity with a broad range of general construction processes and nomenclature, including testing laboratory protocols, soils and concrete testing, asphalt paving, structural steel, mechanical, welding, and general construction observations.
Methodical and detail-oriented in ensuring project QC documentation is complete and procedures are followed to close issues and mitigate risk.
Read and understand construction plans and specifications, identifying errors, contradictions or redundancies for resolution.
Conduct QA/QC meetings, review deficiency logs, punch lists, and maintain documentation and meeting minutes.
Prepare reports on inspection activities.
Schedule inspection activities with local, state, governmental agencies and third‑party testing.
Identify differences between project specifications and standard codes, administering appropriate expectations for protecting company interests.
Consult with Director of Quality on issues beyond the level of expertise.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Stay up‑to‑date on job‑related certifications.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience in a QA/QC role; educational attainment toward an engineering or technical degree may substitute for work experience.
Minimum 5 years in a construction environment.
Training and practical knowledge of construction trades.
Extreme proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint).
Experience with construction management software platforms.
Proven capabilities with Bluebeam Revu.
Preferred experience with Smartsheet and InEight software.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of MIC Health and Safety programs and project‑specific regulations.
Write reports, business correspondence, and document quality‑related issues and activities.
Present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the public.
Communicate and develop positive working relationships with owners, representatives and site supervision.
Work independently and productively, ensuring resources are adequate and properly trained.
Be self‑motivated and capable of taking initiative.
Apply critical thinking skills to establish corrective actions for quality incidents.
Possess diplomatic skills for addressing quality and safety issues.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands
Work up to a 12‑hour shift, performing hard physical work in varying temperatures and conditions.
Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs; perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, balancing, climbing, and working at heights.
Maintain stamina for repetitive tasks over several hour intervals.
Work under changing weather and site conditions with exposure to temperatures, dust, fumes, and loud noises.
Wear personal protective equipment as required (safety‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
Assess information based on measurable standards and recognize detailed differences in drawings.
Hours
Full‑time position, typically 50 hours per week; schedule subject to project requirements.
