Overview
Soraban (YC21) builds AI-powered copilots and workflow automation for modern accounting firms. Our platform helps tax firms automate client intake, document processing, preparation workflows, and service delivery. We are looking for an
Operations & Reliability Engineer Intern
to support a production automation system. This role sits at the intersection of operations, reliability, automation, and customer-facing systems, and is critical to meeting uptime and SLA commitments. Note: This is for an
immediate start , not Summer 2026.
Role Overview
This is a hands on operations and support role focused on keeping production environments running during tax season, with exposure to real production systems and engineering workflows.
Responsibilities
Windows system administration, including daily logins, monitoring, and basic maintenance
Reviewing work queues and investigating failures
Troubleshooting issues, resolving what you can, and escalating when needed
Supporting a Python based system with heavy Windows administration
Participating in team workflows using ticketing systems, Git, and GitHub
During peak season, the role is primarily focused on operations and triage. There may be opportunities to work on application code, automation, or tooling as bandwidth allows, but operational reliability is the top priority.

Clear written communication for documenting issues and handoffs
Curiosity about how production systems fail and how to make them more reliable
Preferred / Plus
Exposure to:
Linux or cloud-based systems
Automation, scripting, or basic Python
QA, SRE, DevOps, or production support environments
Familiarity with RPA tools, browser automation, or remote desktop workflows
Experience working with SaaS products or workflow tools

How to balance manual intervention, automation, and escalation in production systems
How uptime, SLAs, and customer impact are managed in a B2B SaaS company
How engineering, operations, and customer success work together during critical periods
You will also gain exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Reliability engineering in customer-controlled environments
