Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for an A320 FAL Operational Planning Manager to join our FAL based in Mobile, AL.
Responsibilities
Oversee short-term (0-4 weeks) and mid-term (0-12 months) operational planning for the A320 assembly line.
Manage production schedules, coordinate aircraft movements, and develop planning scenarios to meet monthly and yearly FOT/TOT targets.
Ensure resource optimization and on-time delivery by tracking operational progress, leading planning meetings, and resolving production bottlenecks, including urgent issues such as material, engine, and QSR shortages.
Proficient use of the APC Jaguar planning tool; demonstrate proactive decision‑making and effective cross‑functional collaboration to align with business goals and mitigate risks across the production process.

Your Challenges
Short-Term Planning (0-4 Weeks) – 40%
Support the management and optimization of the 0-4 week aircraft production schedule.
Track milestones and adjust schedules to meet production targets.
Coordinate resource capacity (manpower, machines, materials) and identify bottlenecks.
Contribute to daily MPS meetings/OCC and report issues to ensure smooth operations.
Assist in managing aircraft positioning and movements across production phases.
Resolve conflicts related to resources between A220, FAL, and customer line operations.
Mid-Term Tactical Planning (0-1 Year) – 30%
Analyze production lead-time, milestones, and KPIs to identify risks and inform decisions.
Develop and maintain tactical plans aligned with FOT and delivery forecasts.
Adjust plans based on production issues, customer needs, and supply chain impacts.
Support weekly/monthly MPS routines and adjust schedules based on takt time and delivery requirements.
Crisis & Issue Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration – 30%
Report aircraft status (WIP, deliveries) and communicate performance and customer needs.
Facilitate planning decisions with collaboration from stakeholders in Europe and the US.
Collaborate with FALs, Procurement, Engineering, Finance to ensure planning accuracy.
Assist in addressing urgent issues such as material shortages or delays and mitigate risks for timely delivery.
Analyze hangar capacity and position needs to support site expansion and long-term planning.
Qualified Experience and Training
Education
Required
Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field with 0-2 years of experience
Or
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, with 3-5 years of experience as a Planner, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing
Preferred
3+ years as an Aviation operational/program Planner; APC Jaguar user
Experience
Collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across local and global operations.
Attention to detail and the ability to identify and address industrial and commercial challenges.
Experience coordinating meetings and keeping teams aligned.
Ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions to maintain operational efficiency.
Clear and concise communication with senior teams and stakeholders.
Strong time management and the ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
