in the design, implementation, and operation of a secure, cloud-based software development environment and production runtime. Candidates must be passionate, energized, and excited to work on modern architectures and solve challenging problems.
The position is
hybrid , allowing work from home with on‑site support at a government facility in Hanover, MD as needed.
As a
Senior Cloud Engineer , you’ll be working alongside senior architects to deploy cloud infrastructure that supports real‑world missions. This is your opportunity to deliver results as a cloud expert in a high‑impact, fast‑moving environment.
Job Responsibilities and Benefits
Manage Infrastructure, Configuration, and Policy as Code for an AWS‑based DevSecOps environment
Provision cloud environments via automated pipelines
Apply STIGs and other security controls
Implement Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM)
Generate Dev, Staging, and Production environments
Automate application deployment and configuration
Maintain shared enterprise services (ICAM, data stores, security scanners, etc)
Manage observability, logging, and alerting
Establish and maintain Service Level Agreements
Minimum Qualifications
Level 3:
5 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years experience with Masters in a related field or 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
Level 4:
9 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years experience with Masters in a related field or 4 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
Must possess an active US level Secret clearance with the ability to qualify for a TS/SCI clearance.
Technical Skills (Applicable to all levels)
Demonstrated experience with AWS GovCloud.
Hands‑on experience deploying and managing applications using Amazon Elastic Cloud Stack (ECS).
Proficient in developing and maintaining infrastructure using AWS CloudFormation.
Experience building serverless solutions leveraging AWS Lambda.
Strong background in infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
Solid understanding of cloud networking principles and architectures.
Experience implementing and maintaining cloud security best practices.
Working knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and ATO processes.
Preferred Requirements
Experience deploying and managing security solutions using Crowdstrike.
Hands‑on experience running containerized workloads with AWS Fargate.
Possess an active US level TS/SCI clearance.
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of job.
