
Quality Assurance Specialist (Materials and Processes).

Responsibilities
Manages and maintains the certification database and provides recertification testing when required.
Develops general, specific, and practical examinations for each Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) method utilized within the organization.
Reviews new technologies and processes applicable to present and future workload.
Administers and coordinates internal scheduling of projects with other elements within the Activity.
Reviews and analyzes existing programs to ensure special processes are being performed in accordance with locally developed guidelines.
Provides Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) consultant services for other commands or agencies upon request.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience that includes:
Performing routine inspections and applying standard NDT methods such as Liquid Penetrant and Magnetic Particle Testing to evaluate materials and components for defects;
Coordinating with production, engineering, and quality assurance personnel to schedule and conduct inspections;
Collecting and analyzing test data, identifying non‑conformities, and assisting in the development of corrective actions in accordance with established guidelines and policies.
Must meet the "NAS -410 Level II Radiography" certification requirement prior to entry.
Must achieve the "NAS -410 Level III Radiography" certification within two (2) years of entry.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Conditions of Employment
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
This is a Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP) under Department of Army Drug‑Free Federal Workplace Program; the incumbent is required to sign DA Form 5019 and participate in random drug testing.
Pre‑employment physical required as a condition of employment prior to appointment, reassignment, or transfer; subsequent annual physicals are required.
Position requires the incumbent to meet the "NAS -410 Level III Radiography" certification within two (2) years of entry.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance.
