Role Overview
The Lead Logistics Coordinator oversees the efficient flow of materials into, within, and out of the organization while supporting daily logistics operations and resolving complex transportation and shipping issues. The position provides leadership through training, mentoring, and serving as a subject matter expert, coordinating freight, promoting Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and ensuring safe material handling practices.
How You'll Make an Impact
Actively oversee and participate in the efficient and organized flow of materials into, around and out of the company.
Perform all job functions of a Logistics Coordinator.
Help Logistics Coordinators and other JR team members resolve logistics-related problems.
Assist in developing training material for Logistics Coordinators and Lead Logistics Coordinators.
Train Logistics Coordinators and other Lead Logistics Coordinators on job responsibilities.
Participate in and promote Lean & Six Sigma initiatives related to Shipping and Receiving.
Coordinate truck load freight arrangements by developing freight requirements, requesting quotes from preferred carriers, analyzing carrier quotes, working with Purchasing to place purchase orders for freight and scheduling loads with carriers.
Assist in mentoring the logistics team members, exemplifying model behavior and a positive attitude.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more areas: International Shipping, Truckload Freight Arrangements, Information Systems (Ops Manager, Job Track, Baan), Material Handling Equipment Usage and Safety.
Operate an overhead crane and hi‑lo equipment, and lift up to 50 lbs on a daily basis.
Perform other tasks and work as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

What You'll Bring
High school graduate or equivalent; college preferred.
3–5 years in a business environment.
2 or more years of logistics, materials management, or supply chain experience, preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office, strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Exceptional work ethic and motivation to serve the customer, both internal and external.
