Parks Maintenance Worker
The Parks Maintenance Worker performs various tasks for the maintenance and upkeep of Williams County Parks. This is a seasonal position, averaging 35 hours per week. Work is typically available from April until mid-October, depending on weather conditions. Work is primarily performed on weekdays, but some weekend and evening shifts may be available.
Examples of duties include:
Performs routine landscaping and groundskeeping duties, including mowing lawns, weed eating, and trimming trees
Operates equipment used in the maintenance of County Parks, including trucks, mowers, weed trimmers, hand tools, and power tools
Performs general cleaning and maintenance of County Parks, including cleaning and stocking restrooms, cleaning public areas, picking up litter, and emptying garbage receptacles
Inspects and repairs picnic tables, benches, and other park amenities
Operates chainsaw to trim trees and harvest firewood
Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code.
Typical qualifications include:
High School diploma or GED equivalent; OR 1 year of relevant work experience (such as farm-related)
Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver's License or equivalent
Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Special working conditions include:
Work is performed in an outdoor environment with exposure to extreme temperatures
Travel to various park locations throughout Williams County is required.
Compensation: Pay rate starts at $24.00/hour and is based on qualifications and experience.
No benefits are available for seasonal employees.
