Job Title: Maintenance Lead
The role will be responsible for general and routine maintenance and repair duties in the facility to ensure the building and equipment are operational, safe, and well maintained.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks as assigned by the Facility Manager.

Oversee, direct, and train Maintenance Helpers.

Assist in the direction and oversight of subcontractors on-site.

Move and set up office furniture, and computer equipment when necessary.

Perform maintenance and repair on the rooftop units, such as filter changes, grease bearings, and replace belts.

Maintain and work from tickets generated by our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software.

Grease forklifts, pallet jacks, exhaust fans, trash compactor, and cardboard balers.

Lubricate the rollers, hinges, and chains on overhead doors.

Clean out the exhaust ducts on the engravers.

Clean and disinfect the icemakers.

Maintenance and repair of powder coat equipment.

Maintenance and repair of production equipment including but not limited to CNC laser, CNC press brake, CNC drills, saws, etc.

Rebuild and repair equipment in off-seasons to prepare for the next use cycle.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, and material storage area.

Perform snow removal and apply ice melt for sidewalks, pedestrian doors, emergency exits, and overhead doors.

Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

High school education and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum of two years training in facility maintenance and repair.

Minimum of two years experience in facility maintenance and repair.

Strong trades skills and mechanical abilities.

Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, compressed air, hydraulics, HVAC, fire alarm, fire sprinkler, security, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) systems.

Safe and efficient use of a wide variety of hand and power tools.

Ability to operate equipment including, but not limited to, table saws, miter saws, chop saws, drill presses, portable lifts, power operated fastening equipment, and pneumatic tools.

Ability to operate a utility vehicle with a sander and snowplow, forklifts, and scissor lifts.

Technical skills to perform preventive maintenance and repair tasks on production equipment, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, compressed air, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.

Experience with carpentry, drywall repair and finishing, painting, and floor repair.

Ability to replace door hardware, and locksets.

Basic computer skills for emails, and CMMS.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to follow written and oral directives.

Ability to work independently to carry out assigned tasks.

Experience utilizing basic word processing programs.

Experience using Excel to input maintenance dates and notations.

Ability to lead and direct helpers when needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with powder coat plant operations.

Experience with metal fabrication machinery.

Experience welding.

Experience maintaining and repairing electronics and electronic equipment.

Experience with lasers and press brakes.

Experience with wastewater treatment.

Work Environment
The work schedule is 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 4 pm. The dress code requires PPE, including steel‑toed boots, long pants, a t‑shirt, and safety glasses. The team size is three, including the manager. The facility is temperature‑controlled, brand new from 2017, with plans for additional expansion. It maintains a very clean environment in various parts of the facility.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.69 - $36.06/hr.
