Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science and 8 years of experience or a High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years of experience
Familiar with tools such as AWS API Gateway, Lambda, S3, Git, Jenkins, EC2, Step Function, Hive, Glue Catalog, Spectrum, Athena, S3, SNS, SQS
Experience with Python, XML
Strong experience in analyzing and designing data migration strategies to load data from on‑prem data warehouse to cloud data warehouse (Redshift and RDS).
Experience in ETL process using AWS resources
Industry XML data exchange message formats, required modifications, or extensions
Experience/knowledge of XML, FIXML, FPML is a plus
AWS developer certified
Must be US Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain the CFTC agency clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Public Trust or other active clearance
Master’s degree in business, finance, computer science, statistics or related field and 4 years of experience
Bachelor’s Degree is a plus
Financial Industry experience is a plus
Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
Peraton is looking to add an experienced Senior AWS Cloud Developer to our ongoing development, maintenance, and data engineering team. We support the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Data Engineering and Processing (DEAP) project by providing analyses, solutions and maintenance of many processes that ingest financial market data used across multiple CFTC regulatory and analytical systems, including high‑volume, mission‑critical data ingest pipelines. These processes and the data ingested are critical to the mission of the CFTC. This position requires up to three (3) specific days onsite in the Washington DC facility and two (2) teleworking days per week.
What You Will Do:
Serve as a member of an Agile team to provide engineering support and maintenance of services and processes that migrate and promote data and algorithms to the AWS cloud environment and supporting cloud databases.
Design, code, test and implement AWS cloud-based solutions
Work with the customer and Peraton team on requirements gathering and task estimation.
Perform routine data checks, code development and quality checks.
Perform database planning, design and implementation
Perform systems analysis, design and implementation
Perform code reviews and cloud deployments
Provide regular status updates on progress both within the Agile framework and via weekly status reporting.
