Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $70,556 to $103,469, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

What Youll Be Doing

This Program Specialist II will provide case management, transition services, and crisis intervention services for young children, youth, and adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities. The primary responsibilities are:
Developing, monitoring, and coordinating services (including local and state resources) for individuals that are enrolled in the State's Autism Waiver Program
Recertification of both the client services and community providers that are funded through the Maryland State Department of Education
Provide technical assistance to clients, families, and private/public providers; including juvenile justice programs, homeless shelters, child welfare, and adult protective services that may service children and aging adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities
Additional duties involve, but are not limited to, community presentations, coordinating and facilitating meetings, and case documentation that includes treatment plans, preparing progress notes, and any additional and related activities. The regulations, guidelines and procedures have been developed at the Federal and State levels
Travel may be required to perform field visits to coordinate and monitor services (personal transportation is necessary)
Evening and weekend work may be required.
This position

REQUIRES

possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to homes, schools, provider sites, and community locations to complete case management activities and monitor services for Autism Waiver participants.
Background Investigation:

A criminal background check will be conducted on the selected candidate prior to appointment and will be a significant factor in the hiring decision.
Telework:

This position may be eligible for limited hybrid telework.
Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

Two (2) years of professional experience in case management and/or field work experience working with children and adults with autism and other autism and developmental disabilities in home and community settings.
Education:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors Degree.
Equivalency : An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Driver’s License : Possession and maintenance at all times of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence.
Medical Protocol:

This position requires completion of a pre-employment Medical History Form to assess your ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.
Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences

The applications of those individuals meeting the minimum qualifications will be reviewed to determine the extent, relevancy of training, and experience in the following areas:
Experience providing case management or field-based services to children or adults with autism or other developmental disabilities in home and community settings.
Experience working with the special education system at the State or local level, including participation in IEP or transition planning activities.
Experience coordinating or facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings involving families, schools, providers, or community partners.
Experience collaborating with private non-profit organizations that provide services to individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
Experience working with the Maryland Autism Waiver or other State or local waiver or public service systems.
Experience preparing case documentation such as assessments, service plans, progress notes, or monitoring summaries.
