Position Overview:

Siemens Mobility is building the future of rail transportation through advanced, sustainable passenger rail vehicles. We’re looking for a Group Lead to manage a team of technicians responsible for validation testing and daily operations in a manufacturing line environment.

This hands‑on leadership role is fully embedded on the factory floor. You will coordinate testing activities, ensure the team & vehicle systems meet safety and quality standards, and support troubleshooting during production.

The Group Lead will work closely with engineering, production, and commissioning teams to keep testing on track and drive continuous improvement. 2nd Shift:

Monday - Thursday, 4 pm - 2:30 am

What your day‑to‑day will look like:

Lead a team of technicians in validation testing during rail car production

Assign daily tasks based on schedule, readiness, and staffing

Interpret test procedures and technical documentation to guide accurate execution

Support troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and software issues

Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality to resolve issues

Track test progress, ensure documentation, and elevate delays

Promote safety, enforce standards, and drive continuous improvement

To thrive in this role, you:

High school diploma (or GED)

5+ years of a proven track record of leading teams to exceptional results in a manufacturing or testing environment

3+ years experience with electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and high‑voltage troubleshooting

Anticipate bottlenecks and proactively adjust team priorities

Empower and develop technicians to grow technical skills and ownership

Communicate with confidence across all levels shop floor to leadership

Use data to drive decisions, track performance, and highlight areas for improvement

Associate’s degree in engineering or mechatronics program education or similar preferred

Physical Demands:

Comfortable working in a non‑climate‑controlled environment when required

Job duties may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools

Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors

Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required

Vision: close & distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus

The pay for this position is $29.30/hr – $34.47/hr per hour, plus an additional 10% shift differential. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
