Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from inception to completion. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with plans and specifications.

The APM is responsible for maintaining project documentation, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and assisting in managing all phases of construction. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes across multiple scopes, especially in multifamily developments.

Project Overview

Mixed‑use multifamily development

Approximately 7‑story residential building

200+ residential units with ground‑floor retail

Active construction project

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution

Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating construction activities

Support the Project Manager in maintaining project schedules and budgets

Monitor progress to ensure alignment with plans and specifications

Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams

Documentation & Process Management

Prepare, review, submit, and track RFIs (Requests for Information)

Manage submittals and ensure timely approvals

Review and process subcontractor and owner change orders

Maintain accurate and organized project documentation

Communication & Collaboration

Communicate effectively with clients, architects, consultants, and city officials

Act as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders

Provide timely updates on project status, issues, and resolutions

Financial & Administrative Support

Assist in tracking project costs and budget performance

Support invoice review and cost control processes

Ensure proper documentation for all project changes and approvals

Qualifications
Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred

Minimum 3+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager or similar role

Experience in multifamily construction projects is highly preferred

Skills & Requirements

Strong understanding of construction processes from ground‑up development

Hands‑on experience with RFIs, submittals, and change order management

Proficiency in construction project management software

Strong organizational and time management skills

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
