Position Overview
The supply chain finance analyst is responsible for the financial management of the Hunt Valley Plant’s indirect spend budget. This position provides forecast and budget preparation, variance analysis, business partnership, financial reporting, and purchase order approvals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the annual spend budget and quarterly forecast for the combined Hunt Valley Plant and Spice Mill. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data, considering various factors such as salaries, supplies, maintenance, professional services, and savings targets.
Analyze financial variances: perform thorough analyses of financial variances to the forecast, budget, and prior year’s results monthly. Identify and explain key drivers of variances, providing actionable insights to management.
Approve purchase orders: review and approve purchase orders, ensuring alignment with the budget and appropriate accounting treatment. Partner with business owners to accrue for costs in the appropriate financial periods.
Partner with cost center owners: collaborate with cost center owners to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Provide support and guidance to ensure effective budget management and compliance.
Analyze spend data: examine spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Develop recommendations to optimize spending and enhance financial performance.
Maintain an effective control environment and SOX compliance. Identify areas of potential control weakness, suggest and implement solutions to minimize risk.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
5+ years of experience in accounting/financial analysis
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools
Effective communication and presentation skills
Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience with other financial software including SAP, TM1, PowerBI, EDW
Compensation
Base Salary: $87,910 to $153,870.
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan. In addition to a competitive compensation package, permanent employees of McCormick are eligible for our extensive total rewards programs.
