LiDAR Calibration Specialist
to join our team in
Longmont, CO .
The Lidar Calibration Specialist will support the build, calibration, testing and maintenance of Lidar sensor systems. This role is critical to ensuring high quality sensor performance through precise optical alignments, calibration processes, and system level testing. The ideal candidate combines strong technical aptitude with careful execution, thrives in a lab environment and is comfortable working with optics, electronics, and software tools.
Roles and Responsibilities
Execute full sensor build, calibration and refurbishment workflows following established procedures and flow charts
Perform optical assembly, alignment, and testing of LiDAR systems and conduct calibration processes, run system integration testing
Perform incoming inspection on lasers, detectors, scanners and other LiDar components
Diagnose and troubleshoot LiDAR systems in a lab and remotely
Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters and power meters
Troubleshoot communication systems (RS-232 and Ethernet) and provide field support for related issues
Communicate with software developers on software bugs and improvements
Perform incoming inspection of sensors, component and lab equipment including safety audits and maintaining SDS documentation
Execute build/test checklist and ensure quality standards are met
Conduct final audits and generate compliance documentation
Maintain and manage consumables and inventory, lab tools and equipment
Coordinate repairs with suppliers and track equipment issues as necessary
Carry out any other tasks as required and within the competence of the job holder
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics or Scientific field
0 – 3 years of experience.
Experience working in a lab, manufacturing or technical environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Understanding of optical or electro-mechanical systems, electronics (AC/DC, communication protocols), Optics and/or lasers
Proficient Microsoft Office (advanced Excel)
Preferred Skills
Experience with LiDAR or similar sensing systems
Python programming for data analysis or automation
Experience with point cloud data
Familiarity with calibration processes and metrology
Linux command line experience and technical writing experience
Compensation
This range is provided by Kraken Robotics. Your actual pay will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education/training and/or skill level.
Salary Range for Longmont, CO: $60,000 - $70,000
