Job Summary
The Network Automation Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, developing, and implementing Network Automation. This role will manage how we can expedite, consistently support, and unify our networks from an automation perspective. This scope will include writing and optimizing provisioning workflows and automating routine tasks, such as service delivery automation, and developing applications to facilitate and manage Network Automation.

External Collaboration & Program Facilitation

Work closely with Sales leadership and external Partners to understand design and facilitate the needs of the programs.

Host Carrier Forums and execute on subsequent deliverables in a manner that scales frequent questions into content that is provided proactively as a part of our Carrier program.

Create and manage the Agent advisory council.

Resource Management & Content Development

Maintain continuity of existing resources found on wholesale.frontier.com and lead in its further content development for Ziply.

Be the corporate face of communications for both the Wholesale Channel and the Agent Channel. Consistently review the tools, resources and applications Carriers and Agents use to ensure ease of use, adoption, and validations that these resources help our Carriers and Agent be more successful with Ziply.

Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business information systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software development, with a specific focus on networks.

Experience developing and implementing network automation strategies.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience with using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Linux, NETCONF, Jinja, or similar tools in a Network Automation environment.

Strong Python and REST API Development skills.

Knowledge of REST API design principles and best practices.

Proven ability to understand and codify a manual process into an automated process using workflow-like concepts.

Understanding and familiarity with Ansible, NAPALM, Netconf, Jinja.

Understanding and familiarity with computing technologies such as Linux, containers, virtualization, and cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).

Knowledge of IP/Ethernet networking fundamentals.

Interest and ability to research new and emerging technologies to better solve networking problems.

Excellent analytical skills.

Ability to work flexible hours as needed.

Work regular business hours Pacific Standard Time.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience/familiarity with Netbox is preferred.

UI development experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements
Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move around. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office setting.
