Field Material Handler - ER110
The Field Material Handler supports the erection and field finishing crews with organizing and transporting material to off-site jobsite locations.
Responsibilities:
Prepare material and load to truck or trailer for delivery to jobsite
Effectively communicate with field team, transportation, Superintendents and Project Managers
Timely delivery of material to jobsite
Proper securing of loads in truck or trailer
Organize erection and CIP material on site
Maintain and organize field storage area & warehouse
Work as a part of a team assisting others as needed
Must adhere to all Metromont and OSHA safety regulations and policies
Housekeeping as necessary to maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
Scope of Authority:
Highly supervised
Tasks are typically assigned
Works as a member of a team
Reports to Field Operations Manager
Characteristics (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Able to read a tape measure
Forklift certified
Valid driver's license
Able to work on a team
Highly dependable with strong work ethic
Able to drive a truck towing a trailer
Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes
Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors
Basic reading, writing, and math skills
Knowledge and maintenance of precast erection and CIP material
Education and Technology:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
1-2 years of previous general construction or material handling experience preferred
Work Environment / Schedule:
Monday-Friday
Outdoor environment
Work area is not climate controlled and may be exposed to changing weather and temperature conditions
Unscheduled overtime may be required depending on production needs
Personal Protection Equipment (PPE):
Safety glasses
High-visibility vest
Gloves (various types)
Hearing protection
Hard hat
Steel-toed shoes
Physical Requirements:
This position requires standing for long periods of time, lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and bending, repetitive motion with medium force, and an ability to frequently climb up to 15 feet above ground using stairs.
