
Anesthesia Technologist - NBMC (Part Time, Day)

At NorthBay Healthcare the Anesthesia Technologist coordinates with the surgical staff and anesthesiologists to maintain efficient operation of the anesthesia and surgery department. Orders and maintains supplies. Interacts with support departments as necessary to facilitate availability of anesthesia equipment and supplies for every OR case. Works under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse IV, Perioperative Services. Seeks and maintains up to date working knowledge of anesthesia types, equipment and supplies. Performs daily maintenance and troubleshooting of anesthesia machines. Provides ancillary support to anesthesiologists. Performs surgery clerical duties as assigned.
Education
High school graduate.
Licensure
Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS certification required.
Experience
Paramedic certification with two years of experience or two years of acute care anesthesia tech experience preferred.
Skills
Knowledgeable of medical terminology.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with physicians.
Basic Windows skills required.
Microsoft word, excel and Cerner knowledge preferred.
Demonstrates appropriate priority decision making.
High level of initiative and must be able to work independently.
Demonstrated effective organizational and time management skills.
Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and accept direction in a fast paced environment.
Interpersonal Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with co-workers, physicians and the public.
Must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a busy and fast-paced environment.

Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
