Sr. Supplier Quality Manager

Department: Supply Chain

Reporting to: Senior Vice President of Supply Chain

Primary Function of Position
The Senior Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for leading Libra Industries' supplier quality strategy across the full supplier lifecycle for all Libra facilities and supply chains — from identification and onboarding through performance management, improvement, and offboarding. This role ensures a high-performing, resilient supply base by driving supplier quality, delivery, and cost performance while mitigating risk across the supply chain. The Sr. Supplier Quality Manager partners cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Operations to proactively develop supplier capabilities, resolve escalations, and support business growth. This leader champions a "Built to Deliver" mindset by ensuring suppliers consistently meet Libra's expectations for quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Supplier Strategy & Lifecycle Management

Lead supplier identification, qualification, and approval processes, ensuring alignment with Libra's technical, quality, and business requirements

Support supplier onboarding, transitions, transfers, and offboarding to maintain supply continuity and minimize disruption

Maintain and continuously improve the Approved Supplier List (ASL) based on performance and risk

Supplier Performance & Metrics

Establish, monitor, and drive supplier quality and delivery performance metrics (KPIs)

Develop and maintain supplier scorecards and performance reviews to ensure accountability

Analyze trends to identify risks and opportunities for supplier performance improvement

Supplier Quality & Continuous Improvement

Drive supplier quality improvement plans, including corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), SCARs, and root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why)

Partner with suppliers to implement process improvements and defect prevention strategies

Lead initiatives focused on achieving zero-defect performance and process capability improvements

Supplier Escalation & Risk Management

Own and lead critical supplier quality and delivery escalations, ensuring rapid containment, resolution, and recovery

Mitigate supply chain risks by proactively identifying gaps and driving corrective actions

Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure minimal impact to production and customer delivery

Cost Optimization & Supplier Development

Drive supplier cost reduction initiatives through quality improvements, process optimization, and waste reduction

Partner with Supply Chain to support should-cost analysis and value engineering efforts

Develop long‑term supplier capabilities aligned with Libra's growth strategy

Systems, Compliance & Process Excellence

Ensure suppliers meet industry standards (ISO, AS9100, etc.), customer requirements and internal quality systems

Support development and deployment of standardized supplier quality processes and procedures

Utilize data, SPC, and quality tools to drive informed decision‑making and continuous improvement

Education/Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent related job experience

Must possess leadership and management skills.

At least 10 years of previous job‑related experience in advanced manufacturing or assembly.

Print Reading / Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Problem solving and troubleshooting.

Experience with basic inspection hand tools (including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, height gauges with indicators).

Working within and or establishing quality systems such as AS9100, ISO9001, ISO13485, etc.

Time Management.

Must possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal as well as interpersonal skills.

Must be detail‑oriented.

Self‑Starting able to coordinate maintaining of systems and to do lists while maintaining flexibility for the fast‑paced environment. (Project management skills).

Skills/Experience Preferred

ASME GD&T experience

Knowledge of practical application of statistical methods, SPC, Control Plans, and Problem‑solving methods, such as 8‑D and 5‑Why.

CMM operation experience Preferred

Experience working in a precision machining, fabrication, and assembly environment

A strong understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing industry

Work Environment

This position will work in both front and shop environments.

In the shop, you will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, machines, and material handling vehicles. PPE is required in this shop area.

Physical Requirements

While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to have good hearing and sight.

You will need to be able to walk the shop floor and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
