Overview
Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven Project Manager to join our culture. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, directing, application engineering, budgeting and procurement, as well as managing field installation, start-up, and close out of assigned projects. Ensure projects are executed within budgeted cost and time schedules while maintaining positive cash flow. The position serves as the key interface with the customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects. You are part of a dynamic team that supports growth for both you and Convergint.
Responsibilities
Manage many aspects of assigned projects from award through completion, including overall site management for successful and timely completion within budget. Prepare project installation plans, manage the plan, and prepare and implement job procedures.
Translate customer needs into detailed proposals and project implementation plans to meet requirements; review and approve estimated costs prior to bid; engage in project contract negotiation; provide technical assistance to sales as required; supervise project design engineering; supervise installation labor and subcontractors; prepare project schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, project invoices; assist with collections on projects.
Effectively communicate project requirements to the project team and wider organization; maintain accurate and up-to-date records of job status, changes, material flow, and other control records for internal and external reporting.
Act as the customer’s best service provider at all times to ensure Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
Identify potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and deadlines.
Proactively communicate project schedules, change proposals, and related activities with the customer; continuously seek to improve customer satisfaction.
Manage procurement of materials, supplies, services, and controls necessary for timely and cost-effective completion within budget.
Establish project milestones, analyze costs, review actual vs. estimated job costs, and provide timely cost reports; adjust project plans to meet financial goals.
Oversee execution and review of all scope of work, terms and conditions in customer contracts, including cost control, delivery, quality standards, and other requirements as they arise.
Manage direct reports where applicable; manage subcontractor selection and work.
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, electronic security systems, and AV systems).
Coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills; strong leadership orientation and the ability to mentor others.
Team leadership, team building, and facilitation skills.
Initiative and proactive behavior; ability to influence others and build consensus with strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills to resolve problems; solid conflict resolution skills.
Financial analytical skills including cost control.
Ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles.

Requirements
Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience
Associates degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum Experience: 3 years relevant engineering, field service or project management
Preferred Experience (but Not Required):
Experience in one or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation and/or AV systems
Previous project supervisory experience
Certifications & Licenses: PMI certification; industry-specific certifications and/or licenses; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
