Job Summary
The Quality Inspector – Level 2 position will be responsible for inspecting products and performing quality audits, including repetitive visual, mechanical, dimensional, and functional inspections. The role primarily involves testing and sampling raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards, devising ordinary gauging or measuring set‑ups, and documenting methods and limits. It may also include approving products for distribution, assigning work, and assisting lower‑level inspectors.

Responsibilities

Ensure all assigned duties are completed on schedule.

Interpret intermediate drawings and apply SPC principles.

Understand and apply GDT concepts.

Perform destructive testing and evaluation.

Operate the CMM and understand basic programming.

Issue Nonconforming Material Tags.

Evaluate cost and quality standards and perform statistical quality control.

Understand TS processes including nonconforming material identification and inspection procedures.

Measure or weigh products to assess conformity to quality standards.

Assist with capability studies, audits, and gauge R&R as needed.

Adhere to all Health and Safety, environmental laws, and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Academic/Educational Requirements

Completion of secondary school is required.

Required Skills/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

Minimum two years of related experience.

Experience with conducting audits and machining practices.

Experience with metrology, SPC, and knowledge of measuring techniques, gauging, and inspection equipment.

Capable of all Quality Inspector – Level 1 requirements.

Intermediate knowledge of SPC and GDT.

Ability to use measuring equipment effectively, including micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges.

Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings and various procedure manuals.

Experience with CMM operation and basic understanding of programming.

Basic math skills are desired.

Ability to use computer applications to monitor quality.

Ability to work independently and coordinate with colleagues.

Ability to resolve conflicts and use technical skills to determine reasons for errors in products.
