DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various vehicles and equipment, such as cars, trucks, tractors, construction machinery, and power tools. Your tasks will involve performing preventive maintenance, oil changes, diagnostics, tune-ups, and repairing or replacing parts in systems like the engine, cooling, suspension, electrical, fuel, brake, steering, and driveline. Additionally, you will conduct state safety and emissions inspections, service diesel equipment, assist with major repairs, keep equipment records, and provide emergency road service when necessary.
You will also need to carry out cutting and burning operations, procure parts and supplies, complete necessary reports, and ensure a clean and safe work environment. It is essential to follow safety protocols, use protective gear properly, and report any injuries or hazards promptly. Employees are expected to adhere to attendance and scheduling guidelines, support environmental protection efforts, and engage in maintenance activities that align with the Strategic Environmental Management Program to promote eco-friendly practices.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Work hours subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts - 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
- This position requires possession of a valid Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
Additional Requirements:
- You must provide your own mechanics toolbox and basic tool set.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
