Summary
We are seeking a motivated and mission-driven Summer Intern to join our team and gain hands‑on experience in the affordable housing industry. You'll be embedded in live projects from day one, learning how affordable housing gets financed, permitted, designed, and built at a high level. This internship is designed to provide broad exposure to how affordable housing projects are sourced, financed, developed, and delivered. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with team members across functions—including Development, Finance, Acquisitions, Asset Management and Construction—while contributing to real projects and gaining practical, real‑world experience. This role is ideal for candidates who are interested in affordable housing but are still exploring which area of the field they would like to pursue. This position will be for an estimated 10 weeks.
Duties And Responsibilities
Conduct research and analysis to support affordable housing projects, including market data, site feasibility, and policy review
Assist with project documentation, tracking, and internal reporting
Support preparation of materials for financing applications and development processes
Contribute to internal project summaries and presentations
Participate in team meetings and cross‑functional discussions
Attend project site visits and/or external meetings when available

Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Current undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate) in a relevant field such as Real Estate, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Finance, Economics, Architecture, Construction Management or related disciplines.
Interest in affordable housing, real estate development, or community development
Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively
Familiarity with software programs such as Yardi, CoStar, DealPath (or similar CRM), Procore a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, One Note, and Adobe)
Extremely organized with ingrained ability to prioritize and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment
Keen attention to detail with focused adherence to strict deadlines and procedures
Sound problem‑solving skills with demonstrated ability to exercise sound independent judgment
High level of integrity and dependability, including handling sensitive and confidential information
Teamwork mindset and temperament to work effectively with a diverse group of people
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
Personal accountability and enthusiasm for achieving company goals
