Overview
The Assembler I performs general assembly of mechanical and/or electronic subassemblies and products. This role involves using hand tools and machines, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Pay rate:

$21.00 per hour

Primary Responsibilities

Use tools to make or repair parts and products.

Interpret technical documents, such as diagrams, schematics, blueprints, or other verbal or written instructions.

Work with other members of the line or group in order to assemble products at takt rate.

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.

Take precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components.

Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies.

Document actions by completing production and quality forms.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Organize and maintain raw materials and work in process within the work area.

Implements and maintains department policies and standards.

Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong written communication and verbal skills.

Ability to use reason to solve problems as they arise and identify areas for improvement.

Strong mechanical aptitude.

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Ability to multi-task and to retain skills and knowledge.

Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints and drawings.

Ability to work both individually and in groups.

Apply good judgment and follow directions.

Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, establish department/discipline goals and objectives for self.

Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PPT, etc.).

Strong attention to detail and written/verbal communication skills.

Ability to either stand or sit for extended periods.

Ability to bend, push, pull, reach, grab, turn, twist, and/or stoop.

Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands.

Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, goals and objectives for self.

Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors.

Vision and depth perception suitable for use of machinery and/or a computer.

Manual dexterity suitable for use of machinery and/or a computer.

Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes which permits the employee to work in a warehouse.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 lbs.

Ability to sit and stand up to 20-70% of the time comfortably, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions
The work environment is a manufacturing setting with machines and heavy equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be comfortable working in a complex production machining and assembly environment.

Work near machines and heavy equipment such as forklifts or pallet operators.

Operation of the machine may involve materials and substances.

Wearing finger cots, masks, and/or safety vest as required.

Working temperatures may vary.

Working hours may be extended and weekends may be required to meet manufacturing needs.
