Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Network Infrastructure Installation Technicians to support telecommunications and data center deployments across Texas. This is a hands‑on role focused on Central Office, POP, and network infrastructure environments. These technicians will serve as key onsite representatives, working directly with project managers, OEM teams, and NOC teams. This is a 6‑9 month project with the potential for extension or conversion to full‑time based on performance and ongoing workload. Candidates must be open and willing to travel throughout Texas, with the possibility of travel outside the state as needed.
Must‑Have Requirements (Non‑Negotiable)
3+ years of telecommunications / network installation experience
Experience working in Central Offices (CO), POP sites, and Data Centers
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
Experience installing telco / network equipment including routers, switches, and transport systems
Experience with fiber routing, dressing, and termination
Willingness and ability to travel throughout Texas (and beyond if needed)
Ability to clearly explain hands‑on experience with installation work, testing, and turn‑up processes
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
DC power experience including running and terminating power to racks and systems, building and installing RLAs (Relay Rack Assemblies), performing PDF (Power Distribution Frame) to grid connections, and powering up/validating systems
Experience with optical transport / DWDM systems
Experience working with OEM teams and carrier NOCs
Familiarity with Telcordia and OSHA standards
Experience with equipment audits, decommissioning, and system upgrades
Experience using test equipment such as Optical Power Meter, Fiberscope, Voltmeter, and Cat6 tester
Key Technical Competencies (Must Be Able to Speak To in Detail)
DC Power Installation & Termination: Understanding of A/B feeds, power types, and ability to explain end‑to‑end power processes including rack power‑up and validation
Cable Lacing & Grounding: Experience lacing various cable gauges, proper cable management/dressing, and installing grounding cables
Central Office / Data Center Experience: Ability to clearly articulate work performed in CO or data center environments
OEM Equipment Installation & Turn‑Up: Hands‑on experience installing and supporting equipment from Ciena, Infinera, Nokia, Cisco, and Juniper, including ability to explain installation, testing, turn‑up, and basic troubleshooting
Fiber Testing & OTDR: Experience testing circuits using OTDR, familiarity with different tools/models, and ability to interpret results
Fiber Types (MPO): Experience running, cleaning, and installing MPO fiber and understanding best practices
Rack & Infrastructure Installation: Experience installing cable racks, ironwork, and mounting racks/cabinets
Responsibilities
Perform installation, maintenance, and testing of telecommunications equipment across Central Office and data center environments
Install telco and MSO network equipment across POP sites, data centers, huts, and repeater locations
Support light configuration and testing of OEM equipment
Coordinate with OEM teams and carrier NOCs for system turn‑up and connectivity
Troubleshoot installation and network connectivity issues in real‑time
Support DC power installation and power builds (RLAs, PDF connections, powering systems/racks) as needed
Conduct equipment audits, decommissioning activities, and system upgrades
Ensure adherence to industry and safety standards
Serve as the primary onsite liaison for project managers, site contacts, and material/logistics coordination
Support or guide other technicians onsite to ensure quality, efficiency, and timeline adherence
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the project lifecycle
Schedule & Work Environment
Standard schedule: 40 hours per week once project is active
Overtime: Project‑dependent (not guaranteed but possible)
Flexibility to support additional work across projects during downtime
