We are seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer Intern for the 1st Shift (6:30am – 3:00pm) at our Ketema facility in El Cajon, CA.
What does the job involve?
The Manufacturing Engineer Internship consists of hands-on projects involved with areas such as design, manufacturing, and operations.
What will my responsibilities include?
Provides support of manufacturing practical processes.
Assumes Manufacturing Engineering responsibilities under the guidance of a Manufacturing Engineer for projects as assigned.
Works closely in designing techniques, tools, and principles.
Works together with engineering involving the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
Supports unit initiatives.
Learns and understands systems and processes within a regulated industry.
Assists Project Engineers with managing and supporting the execution of projects.
Provides analysis and recommendations for equipment repair and maintenance projects.
Assists Manufacturing Engineers with tool and fixture designs, including modeling and drafting.
Compiles statistical process control data (SPC) to identify opportunities to reduce non-conformances and rework.
Assists Manufacturing Engineers with technical instruction updates to enhance manufacturing clarity.
Supports Manufacturing Engineers and Cell Leaders to observe manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
Demonstrates problem solving and creative thinking skills.
Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills and thrives in a team environment.
Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates a high degree of creativity and initiative.
Demonstrates ability to manage multiple concurrent projects within defined constraints.

What qualifications should I have?
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college preferred; completed or in process.
Experience
Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage large amounts of data and tasks – Advanced.
Blueprint and schematics reading – Basic.
CAD, simulation, and/or 3D printing.
Software (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA) preferred.
Basic knowledge of GD&T.
