OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Press Brake Operator II to set up and operate metal bending machines (Press Brake) in accordance with quality/quantity standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform all dimensional inspections using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and steel ruler to ensure production output meets requirements

Perform routine operator maintenance and operational checks on all tools and equipment utilized including tool cleaning with stone, machine oiling, fluid level/air pressure checks, safety switch functioning, etc.

Based on production specifications and/or Lead’s instructions, select and set‑up tools, equipment and machines required for quality productions

Review machine tooling requirements and plan set‑up/operations to optimize flow of work through the cell/department

Understand the effects of the forming process in downstream operations

Make machine/tooling adjustments to bring non‑conforming output into specifications

Understand deflect of material and spring back along the piece

Learn to adjust and control RAM speeds on the press as it comes down to bending the parts

Understand different types of bending and how different materials react to forming, including growth, or shrinking.

Load thickness, bends, and tolerances of the material

Demonstrate a full understanding of compound tolerances

Complete reference sheets for complicated parts

Set‑up tooling needed

Ability to make new programs on the machine

Achieve and maintain any certifications required in their work area

Cross trained in multiple workstations

Work completely independent without supervision

Produce quality work at company standard efficiency level for assigned work center

Meet or exceed company standard PPM level

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in assigned work center

Retain the knowledge of each job

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years’ related experience preferred

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, memos, and simple instructions

Knowledge of basic business math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Know when to add shims (.010, .020)

Know when to put different I‑axis blocks

Understand tooling for hemming or offsets

Understand V‑opening in dies vs. material thickness

Education

High School diploma.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
