3 x 12-hour day shifts (06:45 – 18:45)

Weekly Estimated Pay:
$1,700 – $1,830 (travel surgical technologist pay)
Call:
Up to 12 hours/week (Mon–Fri 7p–7a) & 12 hours weekend call (Fri–Sun 7p–7p)
Weekend Shifts:
2 x 12-hour weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Holiday Coverage:
Every other holiday required
Setting:
Acute care community hospital, 7 OR rooms, daily census ~25
Job Requirements
Minimum 2 years recent experience as an OR Tech First Assist / Surgical First Assistant in an OR setting
Travel assignment experience required (travel surgical technologist)
NBSTSA certification required (Certified Surgical First Assistant)
Current BLS (AHA) required
Hands-on experience with Mako and DaVinci robotic-assisted surgery systems required
Experience with SPD instrument tracking, sterilization, and decontamination protocols required
Ability to float to Labor & Delivery (L&D)/OB for C-sections and related procedures as needed
Experience in a community hospital or acute care setting required
Familiarity with Cerner electronic charting preferred
Must have or be eligible for Maryland or compact state surgical technologist licensure
Annual flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Responsibilities
Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures as the OR First Assist / Surgical First Assistant
Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment following perioperative and infection control standards
Operate and assist with Mako and DaVinci robotic systems for robotic-assisted surgical cases
Track, process, and manage surgical instruments using SPD protocols and instrument-tracking systems
Float to Labor & Delivery/OB for C-sections and cesarean-related procedures as needed
Participate in on-call rotation and provide weekend and holiday coverage per schedule
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and perioperative best practices
