Registered Nurse - Stepdown (Critical Care)

ICU Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Schedule: Full Time | Night Shift.

What You'll Do

Provide high quality care for intermediate acuity patients transitioning from critical care to Med/Surg level.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care using evidence based practices.

Perform accurate hand offs and bedside shift reporting to maintain patient safety.

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners, and multidisciplinary partners to optimize patient outcomes.

Administer medications, monitor complex conditions (cardiac, respiratory, post ICU), and support recovery.

Participate in huddles, shared governance activities, and unit-based quality improvement initiatives.

Position Details
Qualifications
Education

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).

BSN preferred.

Licensure

Current Missouri RN license or compact license.

Certifications

Required: BLS (American Heart Association).

Preferred: ACLS, NIHSS, PCCN, or other Stepdown‑related certifications.
