Summary
Responsible for the precision welding and fabrication of custom enclosures from raw materials. In this role, you will play a key part in building prototypes, contributing to the development of high‑quality products. Operating under the general supervision of the fabrication supervisor and department leads, you will utilize your expertise in welding and fabrication to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Welds various materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, CRS, and jet‑kote, with a focus on precision and quality.
Analyze work orders, prints, and completed assemblies to develop welding projects, ensuring alignment with specifications.
Calculate requirements, study metals, and determine appropriate welding techniques for optimal results.
Keep welding equipment operational by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
Demonstrate proficiency in hardware insertion, pressing, and welding techniques, including studs and pem‑nuts.
Abide by all rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
Uphold the company's core values and integrate them into daily work practices.
Sustain 5S principles in workstations to promote efficiency, organization, and cleanliness.
Utilize lean practices and processes to optimize departmental efficiency and productivity.
Follow safety procedures diligently and wear the required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Practice the company's core values daily, contributing to a positive and collaborative work culture.
Use lean practices to maintain departmental efficiency and adaptability.
Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned, showcasing flexibility and a proactive approach to responsibilities.
Qualifications
Demonstrates proficiency in multiple welding processes, including Mig, Tig, and spot welding.
Experience in all phases of structural welding is a distinct advantage, showcasing comprehensive expertise.
Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints relevant to the project, ensuring accurate comprehension of project specifications.
Ability to actively contribute to layout and fabrication design processes, offering valuable insights and support to enhance project efficiency and precision.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing/fab shop environment.
Welding certification is a mandatory requirement, demonstrating proficiency in welding techniques and industry standards.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk, lift/pull/push for the majority of the scheduled shift.
Hear well enough to communicate with coworkers.
Climb, stoop, and kneel.
Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and work with 12ft ladders.
