Overview
AECOM is seeking an experienced
Senior Transmission Permitting Specialist
to join our Environmental Permitting & Planning team. This position focuses on the assessment and permitting of power transmission systems with compliance of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and due diligence for projects including renewable energy, other energy facilities, transportation, and engagement with local, state, and federal agencies. The role will lead growth for our business in Texas.
Responsibilities
Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects.
Delivers revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business due to flawless project execution.
Leads and participates in key pursuits and wins for the team, office, and region.
Achieves planned profit margins and completes projects without write-downs or multiplier erosion.
Typically manages projects involving Risk Triggering Factors (RTF).
Supports and mentors team members with multiple projects or programs assignments.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, environmental planning, natural/biological resource management or related field.
6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in managing permitting and environmental impact analyses for high voltage electric transmission lines, renewables, and other linear infrastructure.
Ability to travel for agency/client meetings, field work kick-off, and audits as required.
Valid U.S. Driver's license;
U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a relevant field.
10+ years of experience managing permitting and environmental impact analyses for high voltage transmission lines, renewables, and other linear infrastructure.
Knowledge of Texas and other state requirements with transportation, renewables, and power projects.
Experience in staff management, NEPA/ESA/CWA permitting, and PUC matters related to wind/solar siting and transmission routing.
Strong relationships with agencies, utilities, energy companies, and transportation entities; proven ability to market and win work.
Experience with environmental permitting, NEPA processes, public engagement, and project budgeting and invoicing; mentoring staff.
Ability to lead interdisciplinary environmental planning projects with client interaction and schedule/budget controls.
Independent work style with collaboration in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Compensation and Benefits
Offered rate/compensation will be based on education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Range: USD 100,000 – USD 130,000 per year.
