Job Description
This position is responsible for assembly tasks associated with high‑reliability electronic devices. Tools such as soldering irons, hotplates, crimping devices, and torque drivers are used throughout most tasks. The role requires operating under a microscope, performing tinning with a solder pot, hand soldering of SMT, through‑hole, fine‑pitch components, and wiring, and mechanical assembly with torque drivers. Attention to detail, precision, and quality are essential. Work is performed in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with an emphasis on accuracy and strong communication skills.
Essential Functions
Read assembly drawings, BOM, wire list, engineering change orders, rework instructions, and process control instructions.
Work independently with limited supervision, providing expertise to other employees as needed.
Operate under a microscope to perform tinning using a solder pot, hand solder SMT, through‑hole, fine‑pitch components, and wiring.
Perform cleaning, epoxy application, conformal coating, and mechanical assembly with torque drivers.
Maintain high accuracy and strong attention to detail.
Plan and execute work schedules in line with hardware schedule requirements.
Manufacture all hardware for one or more product lines.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of SMT and through‑hole soldering experience.
High school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree with at least 2 years of prior related experience.
Certified in J-STD-001 Class 3 (preferred).
Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance; security clearances may be granted only to U.S. citizens.
Preferred Additional Skills
Ability to read documentation, drawings, and process control instructions.
Experience soldering skills.
Familiarity with basic Windows computing environments.
Salary Range & Benefits
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas is $47,500 – $88,500.
