Travel PossibleJob Summary:The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for the administration, implementation, and oversight ofthe company's industrial security program in compliance with applicable federal regulations andcontractual requirements. This role ensures the protection of classified information, personnel, andfacilities in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) andrelated directives. (This is a temporary position, but could turn into a long-term/permanent position)The FSO serves as the primary point of contact for government security agencies and internalstakeholders, providing interpretation and application of security requirements across programs. Theposition is accountable for maintaining compliance, supporting audits and inspections, and managingday-to-day security operations. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Security Program Management* Administer and oversee the company's industrial security program in compliance with 32 CFR Part117 (NISPOM)* Interpret and implement government and company security policies across programs and operations* Ensure compliance with
Contract Security Classification Specifications (DD254) and ProgramClassification Guides* Serve as primary liaison with Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and customersecurity officesPersonnel & Program Security* Manage personnel security processes, including clearances, access, and indoctrination/debriefings* Coordinate with Human Resources, program management, and customer representatives on securitymatters* Ensure all security incidents are documented, reported, and resolved in accordance withrequirements* Support SAP and classified program security requirements as applicableSecurity Operations & Compliance* Conduct self-inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities* Administer document control systems and classified material handling processes* Manage visit certifications, classified mail, destruction logs, and accountability systems* Support customer security assessments and inspectionsTraining & Awareness* Develop and maintain a security education, training, and awareness programPage 2of 2* Conduct initial and recurring security briefings (e.g., indoctrination, refresher, foreign travel)* Provide ongoing guidance and training to employees on security procedures and complianceAdditional Duties* Serve as COMSEC Manager and Alternate CSSO/CPSO as required* Recommend improvements to security policies, procedures, and operational practices* Perform other related duties as assignedQualifications and Experience: Education* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience)Experience* Minimum 6 years of experience in industrial security* Minimum 3 years of experience serving as a Facility Security Officer (FSO)* Experience supporting Special Access Programs (SAP)Knowledge & Skills* Strong working knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117) and related DoD security regulations* Familiarity with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD), including ICD 705 requirements* Experience with security systems and databases such as DISS, NBIS, and NISS* Knowledge of physical security requirements, including closed areas and classified environments* Ability to independently manage security programs and make critical decisions* Strong communication skills with the ability to interface across all organizational levelsCertifications & Clearance* FSO Certification required* Active Top-Secret clearance, or ability to obtain and maintain* COMSEC Custodian certification or experience preferredWorking Conditions:* Primarily indoor, office-based environment.* Exposure to loud noises and office equipmentM1 Support Services, headquartered in Westlake, Texas provides a variety of professional, technical, and maintenanceservices to the Department of Defense and government agencies.M1 Support Services is an equal opportunity employer.
