DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Registered Nurse Instructor, you will facilitate the professional growth of nursing personnel by designing and implementing comprehensive continuing education and in-service programs. This role involves assessing staff needs, developing detailed lesson plans, and compiling resources to deliver instruction on essential clinical topics, including advanced nursing arts, medication administration, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), behavior management, and safety protocols. By conducting these educational sessions, you will ensure the nursing team maintains high competencies in resident care, documentation, and infection control. Additionally, you will manage the orientation of new hires, providing critical instruction on facility policies, procedures, and clinical standards. To ensure educational effectiveness, you will perform clinical rounds, observe the implementation of nursing techniques, and collaborate with pertinent staff members to evaluate employee performance. Throughout the training process, you will supervise and counsel professional and non-professional employees, ensuring the proficient adoption of new clinical procedures and the delivery of high quality resident care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. This may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of professional nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; or
  • One year of professional nursing experience and a master's degree in nursing, nursing education, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.


Special Requirements:
  • This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • If you possess an active temporary practice permit, you must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
