DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson, you will perform and oversee advanced manufacturing work in the production and processing of braille and optical products. You will instruct, train, and supervise inmates in best practices, methods, and procedures as well as provide demonstrations, explanations, and feedback during training and work assignments. You will also oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment. This role requires the ability to establish effective working relationships and strong communication skills to ensure inmates learn the standard principles used to manufacture high-quality optical products and services. In addition, you will evaluate all inmate work assignments, maintain training progress reports, and make recommendations to improve output efficiency.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An associate degree in industrial technology, operations management, business administration, or a related field; and one year of work experience in the production of goods or services; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of work experience in the production of goods or services.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
