Job Description
Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 305-bed skilled nursing facility located in Horseheads, New York, is seeking a per-diem Physical Therapist to join our therapy team. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in restoring patients' function, alleviating pain, and preventing disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy.
Responsibilities
Restore patient function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy.
Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results.
Determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
Help patients accomplish treatment plans by administering manual exercises, giving massages, and using equipment as necessary.
Evaluate and record patient progress, modifying treatment plans, and trying new treatments if required.
Evaluate the use and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and observing patient’s progress; and recommending adjustments and modifications.
Document patient care services by charting in-patient and department records.
Instruct patients in proper in-home exercises and therapies.
Educate patients and their families about the recovery process and the challenges they will face.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (DPT)
Minimum of one year of physical therapy experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Pleasant bedside manner and motivation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic computer skills
Service-oriented and instructing and teaching skills
